Summer thus far (a little Spring too)

I promised a catch up blog... So here we go (I was going to go upload older to newer... but it didn't really work out that way :))
ReAL Vs. LA Galaxy Soccer game + Good Friends + Being on the big screen & winning free Burger King whoppers = AWESOME night! SO much fun... we had never been to a ReAL game before, but we are definitely SOLD!!! We are totally fans!

Little Tracie (T-pain, Trace Face, T-force...) + Graduating High School= Complete crazy sauce!!!
She is SO not old enough to graduate High School and go to college! We are so excited for her though, movin' out, and going to college, SO exciting!! Trace is such a funny, smart, and absolutely beautiful girl! We are so stinkin' proud of her!!

Texas Roadhouse (before the 7 pm ceremony) + fan-freaking-tastic family + delish food = A GREAT TIME!

The adorable Toria's dance concert (& 5,621,254,859.2 other kids dancing) + SUPER cute Brady, Audrey & Ellie = Good times had by all.
The GORGEOUS Hubby + Some of our Best Friends + North Carolina = A fabulous vaca!
We went to North Carolina to visit with some of our best friends: LaShae & Noah... we had so much fun... but I was such a slacker with the picture snapping... but here are the few that we took:Lots of great food, including Michael's AMAZING homemade lasagna (scratch sauce, cheese mix, and noodles), baseball game, 18 mile walk around their gorgeous neighborhood (not really 18 miles... but pretty dang close :)) shopping, art shows & dancing in downtown Raleigh. PLUS a day at the beach! We had SO much fun! We love these guys and were so glad we got to go spend time with them (and get away to the nice 80/90 degree weather... when it was still snowing in good ole' SLC)!

...

So...

It's been a while...

Something tells me it has been too long since I last posted...

I received this email from my blog (AKA Julie, my Mother-in-law :)):

Forwarded from The Burtis Blog;

Dear Laura,
I am very sad that I haven't been updated lately. You need to remember that there are many people who enjoy your wittiness, creative writing & impressive photo layouts and that the pressure is on me to give those people the info & insights that they want. I hope that in the near future you will be able to find the time to take a few moments out of your busy schedule to spend with me. Just to catch up and reacquaint ourselves with each other.

Thank you for your time & I miss you!

Love, Your Blog

I can take a hint :)
So, look forward to a quick update on what we have been up to for the past couple of months.... AND we have got a busy, but fun weekend ahead of us - so get excited for an update on that as well!
{I know, I know.... This is probably THE HAPPIEST day of all of your lives, the Burtis blog is back! WHOOT WHOOT :))

My {TALENTED} Mother's New Blog...

So... My amazingly talented Mother started a new blog!!!
This is so exciting because now she can show everyone how incredible she is
(I know that isn't her purpose of the blog, but really,
she is pretty dang great... hello, she had ME! :))
So, back to my Mom. You see, she is this fabulous seamstress... she has done some
really awesome things with existing dresses, shirts, pants, skirts, coats...
you name it - she's done it!...
for example, see my adorable little sister went dress shopping for
Jr. Prom and could only find this revealing number:

And even though it is hot, and she can really work it, it just isn't modest or comfortable!
So my Mom, she worked some magic! Check out the finished... FOXY... number!
Back to her new blog.... my Mom, thought that it would be cool to start a blog where people
can come with questions and ideas about sewing! She will post sewing tips, sewing projects, and sewing questions, and hopes you will do the same... so we can all help each other out!!!
Go here: www.sewmendandalter.blogspot.com/
Make comments... add her as a friend... follow her and show my MOTHA some LOVE!

Birthday - Easter - Birthday

As I said in the previous post, it was Michael's 25th Birthday on Saturday before Easter.
We had such a fun weekend celebrating Easter, Michael's Birthday AND my Mom's Birthday! First look at how ADORABLE Michael was at 3 1/2! Such a stud!
On Saturday evening we went over to Dave & Julie's for Easter and M's Birthday...
For part of Easter Sam got a kite, so M & Sam headed outside to see if they could get it up.
How to fly a kite by M-Diddy & S-Izzle:
1st: Hand the handle to the cute one... then have the big one hold the kite...
2nd: Make sure the cute one is ready to run...
3rd: Ready... Set... GO!!
And he's off! {Look at that adorable face! They got it up a bit, and he was SO HAPPY!}
And just because I CANNOT get enough of this Hottie: I tried and tried to get pictures of this little cutie.... but he is just too quick for me and my camera.... Still, isn't he just "Suh-darn" cute?!
We had M's FAVORITE Birthday cake...
My hubby LOVES it when I take pictures of him...
it only took 5 different tries to get the cute one above....
We (meaning: Holli, Allison & Sam... M helped by putting the cute paper holders together) colored eggs...
Then Michael opened all of his FABULOUS gifts - with some extra LOVE from his Mom!
On Sunday we headed over to My Parent's for Easter,
My Mom's Birthday and Michael's Birthday.....
We ate dinner... then the adults hide treats in the backyard for the adorable kiddos to find:
While the kids found the hidden candy... T-Pain practiced her trampoline SKILLS! We headed in for PRESENTS!!! Both Mom & M scored BIG! Look at my
HOTTIE BOOM-A-LOTTIE Mother! WORK IT GIRL!!!
While opening the presents... Ellie enjoyed her lunch completely relaxed on T:
We had a wonderful Birthday..s/ Easter weekend!
