{Adele... Breaking hearts all over SLC}

So... Remember how in my last post - I was SO excited that we were going to see Adele Sunday night?? Oh and then remember how I was SO excited all week, and whenever anyone asked if we were doing anything fun this holiday weekend I would say:

"Seeing Adele downtown at the Depot!!!"

Well.... on Sunday afternoon, I went and checked into our hotel {We decided we would stay at a hotel, right by the Depot, so we wouldn't have to drive home after the concert}. Michael met me downtown, right after work. We went to an absolutely fantastic dinner... and the excitement was building up {I could hardly stand it!!} So, at about 30 minutes before the doors were supposed to open {an hour before the show} we headed to the venue... as we got closer - we saw the most devastating sign I've ever seen:

"ADELE HAS BEEN POSTPONED - THE RESCHEDULED DATE WILL BE ANNOUNCED ASAP"

SOOOOOO SAD!!!!!!!!

{She had postponed her show in Minneapolis on Thursday because her voice was gone... so our guess that was the case here too}

So instead of seeing a whole lotta this:

We walked around downtown in the rain :( but don't you worry, my man knows how to cheer this girl up... we made a stop to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory for an absolutely DELICIOUS caramel apple! YUM!!!

The day wasn't a complete bust... before Michael got off work, I went a did a little bit o' shoppin :). Yesterday was a momentous occasion for this gal:

I made my first purchase{s} at Anthropologie!!!

I've been in the store and visited their online site many of times, but I could just never justify spending that much on one item! But yesterday - they were having a FANTASTIC sale, AND I had a 15% off coupon they sent me for my Birthday!

As for Adele, we are just hoping and praying she doesn't reschedule for the week we are in New York!! I HAVE TO see her in concert!!

{I smile Wednesday #2}

It's time for....

This Wednesday I have a whole lot to SMILE about...

I SMILE every time I see these pictures of my little sister Tracie & I... Getting to spend the entire day on Saturday with my family makes me SMILE...We spent the morning cheering on my older sister Kathrin, she did her very first TRIATHLON!!!! I SMILE thinking about how dang proud I am of her!!!

She is absolutely amazing!

After cheering on Kat, we went to cheer on my nieces: Audrey & Victoria at their gymnastics meet... Oh how these adorable and talented little girls make me SMILE!!

Then it was time for this super cute little girl's 2nd Birthday party!! This absolutely adorable little girl makes me SMILE from ear to ear {It also makes me SMILE that she takes after Aunt Laura, lusting after the sweets!}

The fact that these 80's style sunglasses are in style make me SMILE...{I SMILE even bigger knowing that I found these gems at F21 for $4.50!!}

Wanna know what else makes me SMILE?! Any kinda date night with my handsome hubby! This date night Michael took me shooting!

After shooting, we went over to my new FAVE fast food joint - Culvers! If you haven't been there yet... it is a MUST!!! Nothing makes me SMILE like a fried cheese curd! YUM!!!

Seriously, AH-MAZE-ING!!!! And last, but certainly not least - I SMILE because in T-minus 4 days... I will be at this FANTASTIC GAL'S concert!!!!!!

Oh how I adore ADELE!!! I'm just so excited I can hardly stand it!!!

{Totally Deprived}

Utah is totally deprived of a FABULOUS H&M store!... I think the closest one right now is Vegas?? Sad huh?! And it totally sucks that H&M doesn't let you order online in the United States yet... But thank goodness, there is a light at the end of the tunnel!!

I read just yesterday that they are FINALLY opening one this Fall in our very own

Fashion Place Mall!!! And get this, it's going to be about 23,000 square feet and two whole floors!!!! {My kinda heaven!!}

To say I am excited would be an understatement!

{Draper….}

We've lived in Draper for almost 2 years now, and really haven't taken advantage of all that Draper has to offer. We decided that this Summer we are going to go exploring our city at least once a week!

This week: we decided to take advantage of the perfect weather and go for a gorgeous hike....

The weather was amazing and the views were incredible! It was a great work out and I loved spending the time outside with my man!!

Can't wait till next weeks adventure!

{6 Years!!!}

***Has anyone else noticed how emotional Blogger has been this week? I'm missing 2 of my drafts and many of my comments! Maybe Blogger is female? Oh well, moving on...***

Michael and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary on Tuesday! 6 years ago, two very stupid kids decided to elope in Honolulu, Hawaii... and it was the BEST decision we ever made!!!
I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful man as my partner in life, there are so many things that I love about Michael... but here are just my top 6:
*He makes me laugh every single day - even on my worst days, he can make me smile. This may be cliche, but I really do think he is the funniest person I have ever met!
*He is so dang talented! This kid has got so many hobbies, and he is so good at every single one!
*He is an amazing cook! Honestly, he can throw together the most random ingredients in like 15 minutes, and it will be delicious! He loves being creative and is absolutely gifted in the kitchen department!
*He is a hard worker! He has amazing work ethic {I don't believe he has ever taken a sick day} He is always doing his best, and striving to do better!
*He is GORGEOUS! Seriously, I don't know how I lucked out to get such a hunk as a hubby!
*He is a giver... He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He is selfless, and always willing to help others. He definitely makes me want to be a better person!

6 years ago, I was 19 and he was barely 20 - we look like babies!! We celebrated our 6 years by going to sushi at our favorite place {Tsunami}
I sure do love and adore this man!!
Here's to the next 60 years!!

{Book Report}

I have been a little book worm lately - I took a break from reading for a couple of months, and now I just can't get enough!
*Water for Elephants* - GOOD book! I read this in less than 24 hours, I just didn't want to put it down! It is just such a well written book... There is definitely some very descriptive scenes {wink wink}, so don't say I didn't warn you! :) {The movie was really good to - of course the book was better - aren't they always?!}
*White Oleander* - Another really good read, sad story - and again, some very descriptive scenes. This book is about a little girl that is really close with her mom, but then her mom kills a guy she was dating and has to go to jail - it's the story of the little girl going through the Foster care system... so many different homes and different people. Such a good read... I love this book!

*ROOM* - This book was amazing! The book is told from a 5 year old's point of view {Emma Donoghue is an incredible writer!} The story is of a 19 year old girl that is kidnapped and kept in a shed in the back yard of the kidnapper for 6 years, she has a 5 year old son and all he knows is what's in this "room". I absolutely LOVED this book - it just might be in my top 20 fave books!

*Nineteen Minutes* - Another really good, but disturbing book. This book is about a kid that is bullied all of his years in School {starting in kindergarten!} and one day decides that he is ready to put an end to it all. He goes into the school, kills 9 - wounds almost 20... it's the story of the trial, and all of the events leading up to that day... Such a sad story, but definitely makes you think!

*Perfect {Pretty Little Liars} - Don't judge. I know that these books are totally juvenile, but I really like reading them! This is book #3 of 4... I watch the show, and have really loved the books! They are what Michael would call "Goosebumps print" {Big print, lots of space- Super easy reads}. Just fun books :)

*Style* - I have really loved reading and following Fashion Blogs lately. I've always loved to shop - but have never really put a lot of thought into my wardrobe and outfits. Recently though, I've been more conscious of my outfits, accessorizing, and how it looks and fits my body - It's been a lot of fun! This book was on one of the fashion blogs that I follow so I decided to pick it up... I honestly read this in about 2 hours.... There was a lot of information that I already knew, but quite a bit that I didn't. I will definitely keep this book handy for reference, or ideas :) {My favorite chapter was the packing to travel chapter - I ALWAYS over-pack... She had a lot of fun ideas on how to make the most of packing light, which I will for sure use for our trip to New York next month!}

Li Lash - I started using this about 3 months ago, right after I took out my eyelash extensions and ripped out all of my natural eyelashes (it was devastating!) But Li Lash really helped my eyelashes grow back fast - and now they are longer than they have ever been!! The only downside - they are a bit pricey... but so worth it!!


{An item you are lusting after this season}:
Oh my hannah!! When I saw these shoes, it was love at first sight!! SOOOO freaking cute right?! Our Anniversary {6 years!!!} is coming up and so is my Birthday... I told Michael I NEED these shoes, it isn't just a want :)

STRIPES!!! I'm obsessed! Love them in shoes, tops, skirts - everything! And how cute are these new TOMS?! Honestly, just when I think I have all the TOMS I need/ want... they come out with ADORABLE new ones!!

NEW YORK!!!!! Oh man! I am SO freaking excited to go to New York in June!! It will be both mine and Michael's first time going, and I am STOKED!!!
