Honesty Tag

So I know that I have been queen of the Tags lately, but not a whole lot else is going on so here you go:

a) List 8 Honest things about yourself - and make it interesting.
b) Pass it on to 7 other bloggers. . .

1) I LOVE sleep. I have to get at least 9 hours of sleep or else I am pretty much useless, or just really ornery. On a normal evening I go to bed, at the latest, at 10. And I usually don't wake up to get ready for work until 7:45 (sometimes 8, depending on how many times I hit the snooze). Then on weekends the thing that I look forward to most is sleeping in. On weekends, I usually get at least 12 hours of sleep. There just isn't much else I would rather do.

2) I love veggies and candy, but I usually eat way more candy then veggies - because candy is just so much easier; you don't have to prepare them, or pay lots of money for them. And veggies go bad much faster than candy does =)

3) I am pretty sure that I have some form of OCD. When I leave the house each day, I have to double check the lock - even if I am already down the stairs, I have to walk back up and check it. I have started saying out loud as I leave "I am locking the door" Ha ha ha, I sound crazy. I also have to double check that I forwarded my phone and locked my computer whenever I am leaving my desk. I don't know why I am so obsessed. And every time I go back to check, I have locked them both. It is so silly that I do all of this.

4) I saw "Confessions of a shopaholic" the other day, and I could honestly relate so much to the main character. She said "When I shop, I just feel so happy - the world is just a happier place" (not an exact quote). But seriously! I LOVE to shop, I feel so good when I am buying stuff. Yes, I know, I have issues =). Go see this movie, totally cute!

5) This one is kinda gross. I love to talk about things that probably aren't very appropriate for young ladies to talk about =). Like bowel movements and sex stuff. I am SO open about this stuff, it is probably one of my faults. It drives Michael nuts that I like to talk about body stuff, but I just find it all so fascinating! Wow, now how is that for honesty?!

6) I love my teeth. Yep, I said it. My teeth are my favorite asset. My parents have spent so much money on them, for braces. (Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU!) Seriously, I had THE WORST teeth before I got braces. My bottom teeth zig zagged and my top teeth were almost completely turned out. In third grade I even had a kid ask me "How do you even brush your teeth?!" To which I replied "I get a toothbrush and I put toothpaste on it. . . " Pretty much our kids have no hope - even though Michael has fantastic teeth and never needed braces, I am pretty sure mine were so bad, that is just what they are going to get.

7) I get really baby hungry sometimes, like to the point where I want to pregnant RIGHT NOW. I get so excited to tell our families and friends that we are expecting, and so excited to have a little Michael running around. . . but then all Michael has to say is "Laura, do you not want to sleep in ever again, for 18 years??" Oh yeah, I'm good. I can wait a couple more years =). (I know what you are thinking. . . and yes, I am pretty dang selfish. Sorry!)

8) I LOVE to fly. I have only been on an airplane 3 times that I can think of: Hawaii, Disneyland & California for our cruise. I really do LOVE to fly. I don't know why - but it is just such an adventure for me! I can't wait to go on vacation at the end of March for many reasons, and this is a big one. I can't wait to fly with Michael!

Tag all about Michael and I (Because I know you are dying to know =))

What are your middle names? Michael TODD Burtis II (He says there will never be a Michael Todd Burtis III, because the name is too common, but we will see if I can't change his mind by the time we have a little Michael running around =)). Laura PAUL Burtis, my parents did not give any of us girlies middle names so that we can take our Maiden name as our middle. . . so that's just what I did.
How long have you been together? We have been married for almost 4 years (in May) and together almost 5 (in June).
How long did you know each other before you started dating? He had been coming into the Bank that I worked at for a few months, and every single time, I stared at him like the eye candy he is.
Who asked whom out? He asked me to "hang out".
How old are each of you? We are both 23 right now, he is only 2 months older than me - He turns 24 in April.
Whose siblings do you see the most? I would say it is pretty even. We see each side of the family often. I probably see my sister in law Kami the very most, only because we both go to the same gym. And next would be Kathrin since she comes to the gym with me sometimes too =).
Which situation is the hardest on you as a couple? This one is a tough one. . . probably saving $$; if it were up to Michael, we would save every single penny we earn. But me on the other hand, I LOVE to spend. . . The perfect example of this: when Michael and I got married he had a couple of thousand saved up and I had a few hundred in debt =). (nothing bad though). This is why we are SO perfect for each other!
Did you go to the same school? Nope, High School we both are from the "West side" He went to Cyprus and I went to Kearns. College, he just graduated from the U and I have been attending SLCC.
Are you from the same home town? See question above. . . Michael grew up in Magna, and I grew up in Kearns, maybe 8 miles away from each other. Who knew there was such a HOTTIE living so close!
Who is smarter? Michael by far! He is book smart and has wonderful common sense. I, however, am pretty dang insurance smart =). (That is really important you know).
Who is the most sensitive? This one is me. . .oopsy.
Where do you eat out most as a couple? We love to switch it up, but probably right now our favorite would have to be Tsunami. LOVE that place!
Where is the furthest you two have traveled together as a couple? Hawaii! Where we got married =). . . and we will be going back in the next year YIPPEE!!!! But we have also been to Iowa - twice. And to Mexico. And in less than a month we will be going to North Carolina!
Who has the craziest exes? I don't really have exes. I did "go out" with a couple of boys in Jr. High and High School, but that was only for like a month at most. And out of High School I did have a couple of boyfriends, but none long term. And Michael only has one ex - so I am not really going to answer this question.
Who has the worst temper? I am going to say Michael. He just gets frustrated a little easier than I do. (I am sure he is going to love that answer =)).
Who does the cooking? Michael is an amazing cook. He does it more often than I do. But I do make a mean lasagna.
Who is the neat-freak? Oh me FOR SURE!
Who is more stubborn? We are both stubborn.
Who hogs the bed? I think that would be me, I am always invading his space =). I just have to have my leg on his leg, or be touching feet all night! But he always steals all of the covers! So we are a good match.
Who wakes up earlier? Michael. I LOVE to sleep! I love to go bed early and wake up late =). Michael says that when he sleeps in, he feels like he is wasting most of the day. . . and my response "sleeping is SO not a waste!"
Where was your first date? We went and walked around Jordan Parkway and talked for hours! (If you ask him, I was the one that talked the entire time).
Who is more jealous? Interesting question. Probably me. . .
How long did it take to get serious? We were just "hanging out" for about 3 months, then we really started to get serious in October. (that was when the L word was used ;))
Who eats more? Michael with the normal food, but me, BY FAR with the candy. . .I have a problem. . .
Who does the laundry? I do, and the sad thing, I really don't mind doing laundry. I just hate how long it takes!
Who's better with the computer? It depends. I am pretty good because I am on a computer at work about 8 hours a day. But like I said before, Michael is a really smart kid, so he can figure things out a lot faster than I can.
Who drives when you are together? Well, neither of us like to drive. . . So it is usually a fight =). But it is usually me during the day and him at night.

This is going to be one of those yucky posts, you know, the kind with all of that lovey dovey stuff. So if you don't like it, too bad, read on anyway =)

I love my husband. So much. Seriously, I totally lucked out with Michael. He is wonderful; he is hardworking, determined, smart, hilarious, GORGEOUS, passionate, loving, thoughtful, talented, selfless, and did I mention hot?! I love hugging him, kissing him, playing footsies with him (Yeah, this is HUGE for me, since I cannot STAND feet, but his feet are totally cute (if that is even possible =))). I love talking to him, spending time with him - just hanging out on the couch watching TV with him is the best. Even just talking to him on the phone for 30 seconds to say I love you. I really just can't get enough of this kid.

My very intelligent husband finished his Bachelor's degree in December (he majored in Biology). And this April he will begin a 15 month Culinary school program. Trust me, this kid KNOWS how to cook. I am so excited for him to start these classes because I know that it is something that he absolutely love.

I totally L-O-V-E him. We will celebrate our 4 year anniversary in May, I can hardly believe it! Thanks baby for all that you do for me and our little family. I can't wait to see where we are in the next 4 years! Love you!

Happy Birthday Tracie!!!

My LITTLE sister who is taller than I am turned 17 today! Oh man, I can not believe that she is 17 already!

Michael and I love Trace Face too death. Tracie is so dang talented: She plays the piano (she is so dang good that her teacher had to tell her that she taught her all that she knows so she needed to find someone who could teach her more! She is honestly a concert pianist. SO TALENTED!) not only is she a pro piano player, but she also dances! And she isn't just good, she is FANTASTIC! I LOVE to watch her perform. She is also such a smart cookie - with straight A's almost every semester! Okay, so maybe I am a little biased, but I sure do think she is a Grade A type o' gal!

She has such a fun and spunky personality, and she gives THE BEST hugs!!! Totally L-O-V-E her!
