{Mad Men Fashion}

Like I said in my SMILE post, we are completely obsessed with Mad Men right now! Thanks to Netflix having the first 4 seasons instant streaming!  

 One of my favorite things about this show is the Fashion! The show is set in the 1960's, in New York City - and it's nothing short of fabulous! Every single episode, the costumery gets just gets better and better!

 I am completely smitten with the ladies of the show, and I was thrilled when I found an old Elle article about Janie Bryant's {The costumer designer for the show} thoughts on how she gets her inspiration for each character!

 Christina Hendricks AKA Joan Harris {My personal fave} inspiration is the stunning Sophia Loren

 And finally, Elisabeth Moss AKA Peggy Olson's inspiration is the adorable, and young Audrey Hepburn

 I'm always making comments on how cute their clothing is, and Michael is always asking me: "Would you wear that?" Or saying "You could pull that off " {He's so nice :)}. So when I found out that Banana Republic launched a Mad Men collection in August, I was SO excited!!! Just check out how dang cute these pieces in the collection are:

 The gloves are so chic! They have some fabulous pieces in the men's department too!

 The detail of that dress is divine! And I adore the bow on the top, so cute!

Can't wait till 10/01, so I can do more than just browse online - and check out the collection in person!  {only 23 more days!!}

 I SMILE because we finally got a Gold's Gym in Draper!!! I have so missed going to the gym and the group classes, I cannot wait to get started with a new gym routine, starting tomorrow!

 And y'all better watch out... Pretty sure I'm going to look like this in 1 month.... Yeah right, I would so SMILE for my picture, she just looks like a biddy! {BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!}

 I SMILE because I have fallen in love with 2 shows on Netflix! Michael and I are currently addicted to Mad Men! I would be lying if I said we didn't spend hours watching many episodes over the past week! Seriously, such a freaking good show! I'm completely hooked with the drama and the fashion is to die for! Don Draper isn't so bad to look at either.... And Armywives is my new guilty pleasure, I seriously cry every single episode! It can be SO extremely cheesy, but I'm so hooked!

 I SMILE because I've officially got the FEVER... the BIEBER FEVER! We had a little GNO on Saturday night and watched Never Say Never... I'm serious when I say I'm a little disappointed in myself for waiting to so long to see it! Oh.my.hannah! I absolutely adore Justin Bieber! He is just the cutest thing!

 And finally, I SMILE because I got my favorite reading material for September! Cannot wait to dive into these delectable mags!!  I'm also SMILING because Fall Fashion is officially here!! Cannot wait to rock my boots and cardi's again! {My only request is that we have a looooong Fall?! I'm so far from ready for the dreaded Winter!!!}



Things that must go!

One of my favorite radio stations does a bit weekly called "Things that must go"...

 I've always loved it... so I've decided I'm going to start posting my own

Things that must GO...

My first couple of Things that must go have to do with proper Cashier/Customer protocol:

*I absolutely HATE when I'm purchasing a greeting card, and the cashier has the nerve to read the card I've chosen! This recently happened to me at the most embarrassing time! I was buying a card for the hubby, thinking I was being funny with the inappropriateness... and the freaking Grandma age cashier reads the card - then gives me a look like "Oh my goodness!"

Oh man, that SO must go!!!

*Wanna know what else drives me nuts?! When the cashier feels it's necessary to make comments on my purchases.... I have this minor problem, every time I go to a store, I have to get some sort of candy. HAHA! It doesn't matter if it's one candy bar, or a bag of mixed chocolate - I always buy {and have} candy! So when it's on sale, I have to stock up! Same with our favorite ice cream... So the other day, when they were both on sale - I completely stocked up! Then when I get to the check out, the gal says:

"Oh, having a party, huh?!" Nope, I just have a sweets problem. Don't judge, judger!

 Absolutely must go!

 People leaving their shopping carts anywhere and everywhere in the parking lots! You honestly just walked around the store for 30 minutes with that cart... you can't walk 5 more feet and put it in the designated spot?!  I had a random cart hit my driver side door the other day, someone just let the cart go and got in their car to leave... totally not cool - Definitely a must go!

Lady Gaga must go! Nuff' said.

 Cheesy pick up lines must go! I had a creepy looking guy approach me the other day in Walmart

He walks up to me and says "So... Do blonde's really have more fun?!"

Whoa... really?! Seriously!? My response "Nope, sure don't"

 And my final item that must go... Friday night, I went to the movies with my MIL & SIL

{to see The Help again... Suh-darn good!}

And I got lucky enough to sit by the LOUDEST Popcorn eater of all time! Normally, candy wrappers and munching doesn't bother me... but this lady was going to town and was sitting right next to me! I wanted to lean over and take her popcorn away! There was stuffing her mouth so full she couldn't close it, thus the annoying crunching. There was pushing around the popcorn in the bucket, and scrapping the sides while grabbing the most possible popcorn her hand could hold. It was quite honestly the most annoying thing ever!! 100% a must go!



{Is it October 1st yet?!}

Seriously?! It's been SO long since I've been shopping {over 6 weeks to be exact!} And It has been TOUGH! The last week has been the hardest... I so miss just going to F21 on my lunch and browsing! I miss going through the clothes and shoes during my weekly visit to Target! I seriously miss it all! {WOW - Hellllloooo negative Nelly!!! HA!} I still browse online at least daily... and I've created a 'Wish List' folder on my desktop, and a Wish List at many of my favorite stores! One month from today - and I can shop again!!! I literally CANNOT. WAIT!

From Nine West: Totally loving the ankle straps! Especially on the wedge, so cute! {I'm thinking I need a trip to the Park City outlet mall asap! (It's the only Nine West in UT)}


OH Forever 21... I love and miss you so much! All 3 of these together is less than $50! I would absolutely purchase ALL if I could right now! I adore the feather dress, perfect length/ style for work! And I'm currently in love with the flowy button down shirts, I need them in every color please!

Nordstroms, you have my heart! Seriously, how cute is this mustard yellow pencil skirt?! Yes PLEASE! Again with the flowy, silky button downs, loving them!

Shoes from Nordy's.... I adore the chunky heel! I am in total need of a simple, and comfy, yet chic heel, and I think these would perfect! And the red wedge -Awwwww... I'm in complete lust!

KOO.DE.KER is an adorable boutique in Salt Lake City, right by the 9th & 9th district... A few of my most favorite pieces in my closet are from there... I love that they are so unique, and not sold in every department store! I follow Koo.de.ker on FB and she posts the cutest items on a daily basis... Completely in love with this bird top w/ the leather trim! So unique, and gorgeous! The perfect addition to my closet :) White House Black Market - I don't shop here often... but this polka dot top had me at first glance! I can totally see myself wearing it to work with a blazer, or out on the town at night! The same goes for these super cute pants... I love the length and cut!

Urban Outfitters - I don't love their website... it's kind of overwhelming... But I did find these two super cute pieces... {Can you tell I'm infatuated with Mustard Yellow??} Love this cardi, it looks so dang comfy, and what a fantastic length! And that bag would be absolutely wonderful for Fall!

What would a WISH LIST post be with out a few items from Target - My girlfriend had this adorable flower dress, and I knew that I needed one immediately! Both dresses would be so cute with a cardi and tights for Fall! And the Maxi... I have one maxi, and it is seriously the most comfortable thing to wear ever! I need more!!! Love them!

Anthropologie - The hubby came in from work the other day and said "I thought about stopping and getting you a nice gift card to that store you like at the Gateway, but then I thought you would be mad since you wouldn't be able to use it till October... but it's the thought that counts right?!" WHAT?! HAHAHAHA!!! Seriously, he is so funny! I assured him I would not be mad, and that he could buy me a gift card ANYTIME! HA!

Anyway, loving each and everyone of these pieces! They don't even need a description... I just really need {okay, want} them all!

And the items on my Christmas list so far?! {Oh yeah, we are only 4 months away you know!}... A rose Fossil watch, 0r the Michael Kors watch {I'm not greedy, I don't need both :)} and Tiffany's ring. {I know, I'm DREAMING... but it doesn't hurt to look right?!}

{I SMILE - Wedding style!!}

As I said in my previous SMILE post - Michael's little sister Allison got married over the weekend! It was such a fun and beautiful day! Allison looked absolutely gorgeous! Here we are in the Brides room before the ceremony, with her dad Dave, the adorable nephews and Holli and I:

I didn't get any pictures of the ceremony, pretty sure it's frowned upon for one of the bridesmaid's to be snapping pictures while in the line! HA! Michael was in the kitchen 4 hours before the ceremony, and during preparing the luncheon! {Which was super delish! That boy sure knows how to cook!} Everyone had happy bellies and big SMILES on their faces, ready for the reception! Proud Michael with his little sister:

The wedding was at an adorable farm in Lindon... We were threatened with some stormy looking clouds, but they passed with out a drop of rain! Hellllllooooo handsome! This hottie definitely has me SMILING!

These super cute little boys couldn't wait to get out of their tuxes and into their normal clothes!

They had us SMILING and laughing all day! {You should have seen their moves on the dance floor! Too cute!} And the cake... Oh the cake! I'm totally SMILING just thinking about it! This had to have been the best 'cutting of the cake' I've ever seen! She had it all up in his hair, and check out the face-full Todd gave Allison! Too funny!

My favorite part of the reception?! The PHOTO BOOTH!!!! I love photo booths!! Allison and I were laughing the entire time during our session!

And of course, the dancing! Michael's Grandma even got in on the action!! She sure knows how to get down - definitely had the entire room SMILING!

I SMILE because I had an absolutely FABULOUS weekend!! Michael went hunting, so Saturday I spent the day pampering myself {it's only fair ;)}... Mani, Pedi and the spa for massages and facials with my girl, Jenna!! I had my very first facial... and let me tell you, AMAZING!!!! Totally loved it! And I will definitely be making it a priority to have a spa day at least every other month, it was just too fabulous not too!! I definitely left the spa SMILING!!

This weekend also had me SMILING because we went to a Birthday party for this adorable little boy's 5th Birthday!!! I cannot believe he is already 5! It's absolutely crazy how fast time flies when you are older! He was so stinking cute opening all of presents - he was such a fantastic gusher! Happy Birthday to Sam!

I'm SMILING because this Friday Michael's little sister, Allison is getting married!!! We are so happy for Allison & Todd - they are a great couple, and will make each other very happy! I'm so excited for the wedding - it's going to be so fun! And I can't wait to see Allison in her gorgeous wedding dress! It's seems like forever ago that we went dress shopping! Wedding's absolutely make me SMILE! {Not to mention there will be a photo booth AND dancing! WAHOOO!!!}

Totally SMILING because my Friday night was spent with this adorable couple!! Seriously, this is my new guilty pleasure: Giuliana & Bill! They are the cutest! I completely adore her style and would LOVE her wardrobe {and maybe her legs too! :)} Thank goodness for Netflix!

And finally, what would my SMILE post be with out a little food action?! We finally got a Jimmy Johns about 2 miles away from our house and it definitely has my belly SMILING! It opened about 3 weeks or so ago, and I've already been 5 times! HA! It really is SO YUMMY!!! {A very close second to my other fave, Zupas!}
