1 & 2 - Took the boys for their very first hike on Memorial day -

They absolutely LOVED it! We will definitely be going on many more in the near future!

{Side story: the yellow Starbursts are also my favorite,

 one guy that I went on a date with actually bought 2 big bags of Starbursts and

picked out all the yellow ones, put them in a big bag

and brought them to the door when he picked me up instead of flowers :)}

**What I Wore Wednesday**

So sorry that I took another {un-planned} vaca from the Blogging!

Sometimes life just gets a little crazy and it's nice to take a break

and not have to worry about taking pictures to blog, setting time aside to blog,

or trying to think of topics to blog about!

But don't you fret, I'm back now with another WIWW!

First up... a totally easy, casual outfit for a family BBQ:

I'm completely LOVING this fedora!

It seriously goes with most my colored jeans,

and is the perfect fix for a lazy day of not wanting to do my hair!

{Sandals: Target {last year}/ Pants: Macy's/ Top: Target/ Fedora: F21}

The dress code for my work is Business- Casual-ISH

{I say ISH, because it's very a very bendable business-casual :)}

I used to wear black dress pants every.single.day! {BORING!}

I got so sick of it, plus I can never find any cute black dress pants that fit me right!

So lately, I wear dresses or skirts pretty much every day!

I'm absolutely LOVING Target for dresses/ skirts this season!

They are killing it! And with their prices,

I have to exercise some major self control to not buy everything on their racks!!

Another FABULOUS find from Target!

The back is my absolute favorite!

It is so comfy and seriously so much cuter in person!

I told Michael for my Birthday he could just set me lose in Target and

I would be a very happy camper - I have a serious Target addiction!

{The big 2-7 in 2 weeks! When did I get so old?!}

As of lately...

Time for a long over-due update on the Burtis'!

First up our Johnny and Cash...

1. LOVE that Johnny lets me hold him like a baby!

He will sleep like this and its seriously my FAVORITE thing ever!

2. Cuddles and loves with my boys are seriously the best medicine for sick days!

{I was down for the count last week with a horrible tension headache!}

Oh my goodness do we love these little boys!

They have completely recuperated from their surgeries and are back to their normal playful selves!

Training is going great - they are such smart, and good puppies!

There was a bit of a rough patch after their surgery,

where they were waking up 3 to 4 times a night!

{IT.WAS.BRUTAL!}

But I'm SO happy to say that they are officially back to sleeping straight thru the night... 

{About 8:30 to 7!!! HALL-E-LU-JAH!!}

 3. I received this picture from Michael with the caption

"I was only in the garage for 10 minutes!"

{It was just a newspaper that he left by the side of the couch}

I seriously laughed out loud in the middle of Target - HILARIOUS!!

4. They {and I} are LOVING the warmer weather!

My favorite thing is to lay in the hammock and read while they frolic around!

We really are lucky in the chew department, and haven't had any real casualties.

{Besides the paper above - I don't know why but they LOVE to chew paper!}

Luckily, they chew their toys, their raw hides and each other before they chew anything else :)

This is the time I hear they chew the most, with losing their baby teeth and all!

And boy have they been losing teeth like crazy!

 In the past 2 weeks or so, I've found 7 teeth in the house! HA!

And I'm sure there has been a bunch lost in the backyard! Poor boys!

 5. Johnny longing to be outside after having to come in

 because he was being naughty and wouldn't stop barking.

I've said it a million times before, and I'll probably say it a million times more...

We are SO glad we got BOTH our boys!

We wouldn't be complete without our Johnny and Cash!

Up next: Our 7th Anniversary

6. 7 years ago - we look {and were} just BABIES!!

Seriously, cannot believe it has been 7 years already!

I sure do love this hardworking, handsome, giving, smart and talented man!

 7. Michael in his new Ray Bans.

8. Eating Oysters at Market Street Grill {Still don't know if I like them or not :)}.

We had such a great night celebrating with dinner at Market Street Grill {YUM}

And reminiscing over the past 7 years {8 with dating}.

Cannot wait to see what the next 50 years will hold!

Mother's Day 2012

9 & 10. Michael and I with our BEAUTIFUL mothers!

We sure do love our wonderful mothers and are so grateful for them both!

It was so nice being able to spend time with them both on their day!

Date Night

 11. Date night!

We went to dinner and Boondocks with our good friends, Noah and LaShae!

We tried the new Mexican restaurant in Sandy, La Cucas {Not impressed :( }

12. Michael takes his mini-golf very seriously :) Check out those arms - Da-YUM! :)

13. Getting ready to get our Putt Putt on.

What I Wore Wednesday

Thank you all for the sweet comments on my hair issues last week!

It's nice to hear that I'm not the only one who is struggling through the awkward stage!!

Time now for a little What I Wore Wednesday:

Okay, so I know you want to get excited and think you see a little baby bump,

But I'm sorry to disappoint and say it's just the shirt...

(Okay, and maybe a few too many treats too ;))

I do love this top, but after looking at some of the pictures I took,

I'm sad to say it's not the most flattering on me.

{It may have to go to the back of the closet till I get a few things under control! HA!}

I LOVE this shirt for so many reasons -

It's lose and flowy,

The big blue stripes give it personality and

It can go with pretty much anything!

Wednesday Wore I What

Remember that one time I said I wasn't going to cut my hair in 2012??

Well, I've almost made it 6 months with just trims...

but I've got to tell ya - my hair is DRIVING ME NUTS!

I feel like there are only 2 ways to wear it right now, and I don't love either way!

Oh man, I promised myself I wouldn't cut it... so I won't...

BUT man is it going to be a challenge getting through this

AWKWARD STAGE!

Okay, I'm good, thanks for letting me vent :)

On to my outfits....

This one was totally easy, and comfy!

{Have I told you how much I love scarfs?!}

 {Pretty much this entire outfit is from Target -

 except the scarf, I picked that up at a shop in Myrtle Beach 3 years ago}

This outfit I pictured a lot differently in my head...

I absolutely LOVE this top

{It's one of my purchases from the Outlet malls this past weekend}

BUT I made the mistake of not trying it on...

Pretty sure I should have gone down a size!

 Good thing I have belts, and can tuck it in to add a little shape,

and after seeing this pictures...

I definitely should have done one or the other for this outfit!

Next time for sure!

P.s. Can we talk about these TOMS ballet flats for a moment?!

Yeah, remember how I was SO excited for them??

Because remember how I own 6 pairs of the other TOMS and LOVE them??

But then remember how they are one of the most PAINFUL shoes I've ever owned??

LAME SAUCE!!!

I've been trying to break them in though,

only wearing them when I know I won't be doing much walking -

Hopefully they get better!

Have any of you purchased them and gone through the same thing???

Or is it just me... :)

{What I wore Wednesday}

POLKA-DOTS and STRIPES edition...

As I have said in many previous posts -

I am so in love with polka dots,

And am totally loving the fact that they are all over the place this season!!  

I have had to exercise some major self control to not purchase every dotted thing I see!

But when I saw this ADORABLE skirt on THIS post from Daybook...

I just couldn't resist! I NEEDED IT!

{And for $32, I would have been crazy to pass it up!!}

It's seriously everything I hoped it would be and more!! HA!

 And Stripes??? Don't even get me started!!

I organized my closet a few weeks ago,

And seriously at least 1/4 of my wardrobe has some sort of stripe!!

I may have a slight addiction!!

Not only do I love the stripes on this top, but the ruffle detail is adorable!
