THRILLER night out with some of my favorite ladies!
Had to do The Pie for dinner before the show!
 We had such a fun night! I loved being there with Tiffany and Tanya for their first time at Thriller! Definitely one of my favorite October traditions! Group picture with our new ZOMBIE friend!
Oh and please meet my newest, extremely handsome friend.... Yeah buddy!

Trying new DELICIOUS Pumpkin recipes has Michael AND I SMILING! Like these
Pumpkin-Chocolate-chip-cookies w/ Cream-cheese-frosting
that were absolutely worth the time and mess I made while making them!!

I found the recipe on the adorable Little Miss Momma Blog {I linked to the recipe post - oh and her cookie pictures look a lot more appetizing than mine do :)}Pretty sure I've found my new favorite recipe! These were seriously SO yummy, the recipe makes TONS, so be prepared to share!
 HALLOWEEN themed nails thanks to my amazing OPI Shatter nail polish....
And finally, not really ROCKTOBER themed... but still absolutely making this OWL-OBSESSED gal SMILE... This up-to-heaven. suh-darn-cute OWL cake pop that my SIL gave me from an OWL themed Birthday party she went to - LOVE IT!
{Although, I still haven't eaten it... just can't bring myself to ruin it - it's just too cute!}

{Random MOBILE Pics #2}

Just a few random pictures off my Blackberry that make me happy!

The ever so hot Miguel in Central Park!
I miss New York! I want to go back, now please!
 This picture is happy for 2 reasons:
A. Driving M's new pickup truck... I feel SO big in it - and I LOVE it!
{I told him that and he told me that I have little man syndrome! HAHAHA!}
B. I stole M's hat and it totally reminds me of countless 80's movies!
{Molly Ringwald in Sixteen Candles, or  Monique in Better off Dead anyone?!}

This is me wearing my 10 year old Niece, Victoria's
SUPER CUTE new school boots!
They actually fit me perfectly, I told her we will be able to share shoes soon -
She didn't like that very much :).
This picture seriously CRACKS ME UP!
Michael sent it to me one day with the caption:
"The hat I got for filling up my drink punch card at Common Sense!"
{Gas station by our house}
HAHAHA! He was SO proud!
{P.s. He may kill me for posting this picture ;)}
My cousin Alexandra's adorable kiddos at our Grandma's Birthday Party
{Their Great-Grandma}
Alexandra ditched out and went on a hot date with her hubby
 Instead of coming to the party,
so I had to take a picture and show we were having fun with out them ;)
And lastly, another picture that Michael may kill me for posting -
But I just couldn't resist... :)
He sent this to me as he was getting ready to work the front of the house
at the restaurant for his school...
I just cannot get over how freaking adorable he looks with the
 Bow tie and his black on black ensemble!

{Wednesday SMILES}

SMILING because we got to help celebrate the marriage of our friends,
 Brittani and Nick, Saturday night!
CONGRATS to Brittani and Nick Lee! We wish your adorable family all the happiness in the world!
Such a cute couple!
 {Picture from Facebook - taken by Shailynn Photography}
The wedding was at the very beautiful Woods on Ninth.
It was seriously the perfect Fall evening in
Salt Lake City, the weather honestly couldn't have been better!
At the reception with some of the ladies: Shantai, Jenna and I...
We of course had to have our turn in the Photobooth...
  Michael's "thug" face absolutely makes me SMILE! He's so hard!

Sunday the hubby and I went for a drive to see the "Up" House in Herriman!
  It's an exact replica of the house from the movie! Too cute right?!
They even did the mailbox - freaking adorable!
 I absolutely love that movie {makes me cry every time!} This house definitely makes me SMILE!

Definitely SMILING because my extremely talented mother made these super cute, and super comfy OWL PJ pants for me, get this: out of an XL Pajama top!! LOVE them!!
And finally, as I was looking through my November InStyle... the 8 page spread of the completely glamorous Miss Piggy definitely made me SMILE!
The best part? The magazine had actual fancy-schmancy designers
{Jason Wu or Brian Atwood anyone?!} design her diva outfits!
Just a couple of the super cute pictures:

{MY FALL LIST}

The Fall List:
{My MUST HAVE Beauty item}:
Moroccanoil Oil and Moroccanoil Shampoo and Conditioner. Seriously, this stuff has changed my life! The oil I use on my towel dried hair before I dry it with the blow dryer - it's a serum that creates spectacular shine and conditions like crazy! And one of the most important things - it smells AMAZING! The Shampoo and Conditioner is some of the best stuff I've ever tried! I'm definitely hooked on this product {Although, it is a little on the pricey side, so if you do end up getting it, I would suggest going through Amazon instead of a salon :)}

{An item I'm lusting over this season}:
This Michael Kors Rose Gold watch - isn't is absolutely gorgeous?! I'm in love!

 BUT... I know it's a little much for a watch... SO... I would be willing to settle for this Fossil Rose watch... it's just as pretty and I think would look just as fabulous as the twice as much Michael Kors one... {See, I'm not that high maintenance :)}
 {My favorite trend this Fall Season}:
Absolutely LOVING the leopard print! It's popping up everywhere, and I'm seriously obsessed! It's not just your Grandma's print anymore! Just a few of the leopard items I'm completely digging:
 a. Nordy's scarf
 b. Fossil heels
 c. Nordy's dress
 d. Fossil vintage belt via Macy's
 e. Urban Outfitters wrap watch

{What I'm looking forward to this Fall}:
We have had such a busy October already, and the rest of the month isn't going to slow down either! I'm absolutely loving every minute of it! So much to look forward to in the next couple of months: Birthday parties, weddings, Thriller, a Baby shower and much more! But one of the things I'm most looking forward to is Halloween!!! I LOVE me some Halloween! I dress up every year for work... 2009 I was an Oompa Loompa, last year I was a nerd {as seen below} I even won the office Best Costume contest! And this year, it's going to be just as good, if not better! {I'm not telling what I'm going to dress up as yet though... you will just have to wait and see!! :)} Can't wait!
 I'm also really looking forward to the Breaking Dawn movie coming out November 17th!! Breaking Dawn was my FAVORITE of the Twilight books {for obvious reasons WINK WINK :)}. And even though the actors are really starting to drive me nuts {besides Jacob. Jacob is just HOT!} I'm just really excited to see how they portray all that happens in the book in the movie! ***BUT, I just found out that they are doing 2 parts and that is just LAME! I know they've got to make their money, but REALLY?! UGH!
Finally, {My fave Hollywood Hot Man (totally random, but I will play along :))}:
Absolutely loving Ryan Gosling right now! I already loved him in the Notebook... but he completely won me over in Crazy, Stupid, Love! We most recently saw him in Drive {Michael liked the movie - I, on the other hand, thought it was WAY too gory for my taste! I spent half the movie with my eyes covered! Too much blood for this little girl! Good thing Ryan was some major eye candy though - or I might not have made it through the movie!} Oh and I am looking forward to seeing him in The Ides of March. He's just too dang cute for his own good!

***I SMILE Wednesday***

 Cookies 100% make me SMILE... but cookies that make me SMILE the most are with out a doubt: PUMPKIN CHOCOLATE CHIP cookies! {Once again, YAY for Fall!!! Pumpkin flavored anything definitely makes me SMILE! YUM} And when I found this super-duper easy recipe for my fave cookies, I just knew I would have to share! All you need are these 3 simple ingredients:
1 18oz box of Spice Cake Mix
1 15oz can of pure pumpkin
1 bag of milk chocolate chips or semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix together pumpkin and spice cake mix until well blended. Add chocolate chips. Drop cookies on greased baking sheet...
 15-18 minutes in the oven - and they are done!!! And my hannah are they delicious! They had Michael and I SMILING for 2 days {that's how long it took the 2 of us to eat 2 dozen cookies! OOPS!! :)}
 Recipe from: Food-dot-com
Also making me SMILE... These absolutely fabulous Beaver slippers that Michael brought me from Alaska! With the weather continuing to cool down, it was time to break these gems out!  These slippers are seriously like heaven on my feet! They are definitely responsible for keeping my toes happy and toasty warm!!
Sunday date with my hot hubby absolutely makes me SMILE! Sunday's are family days at the Burtis household... and for us, this past Sunday that meant day date to the movies! We decided to see 50/50, this movie was incredibly funny, but so sad at the same time! It had us both laughing many times, and me crying, more than I would like to admit! Seriously, such a good flick! We would both definitely recommend it!
 I totally SMILED when I saw this on Pinterest...

SO true, especially for this gal! Which brings me to my final SMILE this week...
NEW BOOTS!!! YAY!
 I was completely inspired by the gorgeous Brooke at The Soundtrack - she has the cutest boots, similar to these, and always styles them perfectly! I knew I needed a pair - ASAP, so I went on the hunt! I found some very cute ones a few different places, but no one had a 5 or 5 1/2! FINALLY, I found this super cute pair at Nordy's! I have so many ideas on what to pair these with! What a fantastic addition to my wardrobe :) New boots, of course, have me SMILING!

{Just read/ Currently reading}

I recently finished the Stieg Larsson trilogy:
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,
The Girl who Played with Fire and
The Girl who Kicked the Hornet's Nest
*WOW*
 I can honestly say that I completely LOVED these books!
The first book was a little hard to get into it... but after I did,
I just didn't want to put it down!
I took a little break before starting the next one,
But once I started that one, I didn't want to stop!
The day I finished the second one, I had to go out and buy the third!
These are seriously such good reads!
Such an interesting storyline AND just so well written!
*BUT*
I probably wouldn't recommend them... you see, they have very disturbing content...
There is some abuse {that is very disturbing and extremely graphic}...
There is also an awful lot of usage of the F-Bomb...
However, I still loved the books,
They were definitely like nothing I've ever read before!
{I watched the first movie, and that was crazy disturbing - I don't plan to watch the other two...}

Now that I've finished that trilogy...
I've decided to re-read one of my favorite book series EVER...
Stephanie Meyer's:
Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn
I've read Twilight a few times... and now that the final movie is coming out in 6 weeks,
I've decided to re-read them again!
These books are seriously some of my fave...
I've just started Twilight, and already don't want to put it down!
And I look forward to when I get to read next!!
I absolutely LOVE these books!
{Even if they are considered Young Adult}
I would definitely recommend these books to anyone that hasn't read them yet..
AHEM...  HOLLI!!! :)

My Fall shows can wait patiently on the DVR...
 I'm a little busy with Edward & Bella! :)
Happy Reading!

{SMILING}

This week I'm SMILING because it's officially ROCKTOBER!!! YAY! October is seriously my favorite month! The weather is amazing, and the Halloween festivities are my fave, it's seriously just the best! I put up most of our Halloween decor last night - and it definitely had me SMILING!!!
Our entry way....

My very crafty Halloween letters {Thanks to my MIL, Julie!}....
 I went to World Market for the first time ever the other day, {That store is awesome! I could seriously spend hours just looking around!} but I found these absolutely adorable OWL Halloween decorations! Seriously, the owl hanging made me SMILE as soon as I saw it, and I knew I HAD to have it!
 My super-duper cute hubby bringing me home this envelope with a cute little note just before my "shopping fast" was about to end DEFINITELY makes me SMILE!! He is seriously the best, I am completely spoiled! {Don't worry, I bought him a couple of surprises with my "No strings attached" cash too :)} Seriously, my Michael makes me SMILE on a daily basis, I know that I'm a very lucky girl!
 Speaking of SHOPPING... Saturday was a COMPLETE success!! I was SMILING from ear to ear all day long!! Just a few of my FAVE purchases:
1. Wedges from Nine West {Buy one get one 40% off, so I got an adorable pair of black heels too!}
2. AE Favorite shirt from American Eagle {50% off on Clearance!}
3. Green jeans from Urban Outfitters - I think these may be my FAVORITE purchase!
4. Blouse from...get ready... OLD NAVY! What?! I totally haven't shopped there in so long - they are usually so hit and miss for me {pretty much all miss as of lately!} but this shirt is so comfy, and so cute! Exactly what I was looking for! {On sale for $15!}
5. Black Jeggings from American Eagle
6. Another completely comfy Blouse from Old Navy - and in Leopard print! I've always thought the leopard print was just Grandma's... but it's completely in - and I'm totally loving it! {On sale for $19! So I had to get it in Black too!  I just couldn't pass it up!}

And finally... Michael's homemade pizza absolutely makes me SMILE! Homemade crust, homemade sauce and the freshest ingredients! Soooooo dang good! My personal pizza {Michael doesn't like my fave toppings, mushrooms or olives - crazy kid! So we each get our own pizza the way we like :)}
 Fresh out of the oven!
 Oh what's that, you need a close up of the ooey-gooey cheesy goodness? Well then, here you go:
YUM!
